An Open Love Letter To Pinterest

“Oh, I can’t fight this feeling any longer
And yet I’m still afraid to let it flow
What started out as friendship has grown stronger
I only wish I had the strength to let it show”

~REO Speedwagon

Pinterest and I have been in a relationship for a few years now. We have finally reached the point in our relationship where we feel comfortable telling each other how we feel. Here’s my open love letter to Pinterest.

Dearest Pinterest,

We’ve been seeing each other for a few years now. It’s time I told you how I feel about you. I’ve kept my feelings to myself for far too long, and I need to tell you something…

I Love You

I’m sorry it’s taken me this long to tell you how I feel. I can only hope you feel the same about me. However, before we take our relationship any further, I need to tell you something else.

In the beginning of our relationship, I didn’t really take you seriously. I didn’t nurture you the way you deserved. I even cheated on you a time or two with Facebook and Google. For that, I am truly sorry.

I hope you can forgive me.

Even though I began my blogging career 5 months ago, I only recently decided to include you in it. And, I’m happy to report, you have been nothing but good to me. I can’t believe I waited so long to hand my heart {blog} over to you. Now that I’ve surrendered, the only thing I can say is, I am so glad I did.

Sweet Pinterest, here are some of the things you’ve done for me

  • Shown me that you are a powerhouse of a search engine used by millions of people around the world.
  • Brought my {Pinterest} followers from 0-1800+ in less than two months
  • Introduced me to over 50 Group Boards which have a combined total of over 500,000 followers. Which has…
  • Increased my blog’s monthly pageviews from less than 1000 to 100,000+
  • Grown my blog’s income from $25 to $450 (and counting)
  • Helped me gain over 400 new email subscribers (Constant Contact has also helped)
  • Given me the courage to push forward with my blog

I just want to say…

Thank you, Pinterest

First of all, thank you for going to “counseling” with me when our relationship needed it the most. That “counseling” came in the form of help from other bloggers including Rosemarie from Busy Budgeter who taught me how to give you the attention you deserve. Rosemarie’s courses “The Pinterest Strategy Guide” as well as her “Core Affiliate Strategy” are tremendous assets for any new blogger. In fact, even experienced bloggers can learn a thing or two from these easy-to-follow guides.

Another blogger who has helped me grow my relationship with you {Pinterest} is Lena, from What Mommy Does. Lena’s ebook, “How I Went From 17k-350k+ Pageviews in 9 Months” has been extremely helpful in giving me an “inside look” at how you operate. This has helped me grow even closer to you in ways I never even knew were possible.

Also, thank you for…

I know this is a weird thing to say in a love letter, but I want to thank you for allowing us to be in an “open” relationship. In the beginning, I’ll admit, it was hard to stay connected to you when I was having to manually pin to multiple boards each and every day. This quickly caused my love for you to grow stale. Honestly, it was becoming too much of a chore for me.

However, since we have introduced Boardbooster into our relationship, my love for you has grown considerably. In fact, Pinterest, I am more in love with you now than I ever was before. Boardbooster has allowed me to automate multiple pins each day which, in turn, has allowed me to focus on creating beautiful pins {which I know you enjoy}.

Go ahead, repin them. They are my gift to you.

I can only hope for many more rewarding years together. In the meantime, I will cherish the time I have with you. Pinterest, you mean more to me than you will ever know.

All my love, Uncluttered Simplicity
